On my last post I presented my villains designs but as there are more than just villains I decided to make a separate post for the other characters.

As I said in my last blog post there are 3 NPC villains and the main villains and then 3 other NPC characters who are villagers and work with the main character. With my characters I decided to kind of stick to real life vikings like in my research, however I have adjusted it to make it more interesting.

I decided on a father, a son and a grandmother.

Here are the first iterations of each character. I really like the silhouette of the father character and believe that that would be the strongest for the character. These marked designs are the ones I chose and the next stage of the process was to work on colour palette whilst adding and changing the design a little.

I decided on the bottom right as the colour scheme is warm, however not like the warm colours featured on the main villain as I have adding a lot of cold colours to the designs on the villains too. As this character is a carpenter I think his clothing and props work well however I will add more.

Working on the young boy was a little hard as I couldn't decide on colour palette and I couldn't think of anything to add onto the design as he's just a kid. I finally decided on the two marked designs, I think I will go with the first but add a cape or something like on the second.

I have to say I do enjoy drawing old people so this one was kinda fun. The grandmother character was still difficult however as like the young boy there's not much to add. I think the blue dress and orange shawl works well as the orang will work with the colour scheme of the father and will tie them all together. I really want to push each of the character's designs and I will on the last week which scarily is next week.

I think these characters work really well together and once I've iterated them more they will tie in fantastically.

Here is also a little update on my project plan and how I'm sticking to the plan as best I can. It has actually helped me stay organised and it's something I'll do every project.
